Weekly Wine Review: Adorada Pinot Gris

Hi guys! How’s your week going? As a red wine fan, I’ve been trying out more white wine this year than I ever have and I think I’ve found a new favorite!!

Wine

Adorada Pinot Gris is a great example of a dry, fruity Pinot Gris. Their winery is models after California's Earth, Sea and Sky.

What I love about Adorada is that their brand is such a statement! Both the Adorada Pinot Gris and their Rose are extremely cost affordable for the quality of wine, but bring a bottle to any party and your guest would think you spent way more.

Their signature bottles are dipped in shiny black wax and their simple label with the “Eau de California” really hint at what you’re getting when you taste.

This wine was so good I could drink it like juice. Very floral on the nose, with bursts of sweet peaches and apricots in every sip and topped off with some lemon zest.  This wine was medium bodied and more viscous in texture.

History

Did you know that Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio are the same thing? Typically called Pinot Gris in France and Pinot Grigio in Italy, the two names are actually interchangeable.

Pinot Gris can be dry and fruity or take on a more mineral quality depending on the region in which the grapes are grown. Warmer regions tend to produce fruitier versions such as the Adorada Pinot Gris since it was grown in California.

Pairing

The Adorada Pinot Gris will pair excellent with lighter foods. because of the delicate flavors, you’ll want something that isnt took overpowering.

Try raw fish, pork, chicken or a fresh salad!
