What is it about bite-sized snacks that make them so easily consumable?
Think about it, if you were offered a cheese burger, you’re (most likely) only going to have one.
Now imagine you were offered a plate of sliders. I bet you that you would be able to eat 3-4 easily which may make you feel like you’re doing better because they are small, but in reality you’ve probably eaten more than that full sized burger!
Appetizers are always my favorite part of parties. They are like this guilt free abyss of snacking opportunities and can be so much more than chips and salsa.
Jump to RecipeI discovered my go-to app after watching a few seasons a Great British Bake-Off and fell in love with sausage rolls.
I mean, how can you go wrong with ground sausage wrapped in a flaky puff pastry?
It’s like the grown up version of pigs in a blanket!
Sausage Rolls Recipe
This recipe is SUPER easy to make and will please a crowd for any gathering. Do I hear Super Bowl anyone??
Start by combining all of the spices and sautéed garlic and shallots with the ground sausage. I prefer to use spicy, because I love all things spice, but you can very easily use plain sausage or even try a chicken sausage!
Next, take a sheet of puff pastry (thawed if you are using a frozen sheet) and cut it in half lengthwise.
Roll a log of sausage about the size of a penny in diameter and add it to the center of the pastry.
Brush a little egg wash along one side of the dough and fold the two ends together and crimp with a fork.
Cut the log into pieces about 1in thick and place on a baking tray.
Brush the sausage roll pieces with your egg wash and cut a small slit in the tops for ventilation.
Bake for 25 minutes and enjoy!
