You know what I love about Southern California? The weather is so predictable.

Every year like clockwork, mid-May comes around and BAM! Summer is hereeeeee!

Summer means white wines, rose, and fresh fruity drinks like sangria!

Raspberry & Peach Sangria Recipe

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite sangria recipes to celebrate the beginning of summer and National Pinot Grigio Day on May 17th!!

I love using Pinot Grigio in my sangria recipes because it’s a delicious, neutral wine with subtle stone fruit flavors that compliment any type of sangria you choose to make.

I used Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio for my raspberry & peach sangria recipe because I love the notes of pear, nectarine, white peach and honeysuckle that the wine adds to the drink and the crisp acidity helps cut through the sweetness of the fruit!

Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are actually the same grape that have different names depending on the region in which it’s grown. In Italy, it’s called Pinot Grigio.

Mezzacorona hails from the Trentino region of northern Italy in the Italian Alps where their grapes are hand harvested and sustainably farmed.

Their vines are trellised differently than here in the US with a pergola style that allowed the grapes to be shaded by its own vines which helps preserve the fruit. They are also certified non-GMO which is awesome!

Sangria is super simple and a great evening sipper or perfect for a picnic or day a the pool. The key to a great sangria is making sure you let it refrigerate for at least 2 hours before drinking it!! This gives it time for all the components to infuse and make for a really delicious drink. You can also make the night before and serve with fresh garnish!
