DAOU Vineyards Overview
If you google “Top Wineries in Paso Robles,” one that will pop up on almost every list is DAOU Vineyards and once you’ve experienced the wine and the property for yourself, you will understand why.
Founded by Georges and Daniel Daou, brothers born in Lebanon and forced to immigrate to France during the Lebanese Civil War. It was in France their love of wine and dreams of owning a vineyard were born. After a successful career in tech, the brothers decided to finally reach for their dream and bought one of the most beautiful plots of land in Paso Robles’ Sub-AVA of Adelaida.
The Wine
DAOU Vineyards creates primarily Bordeaux style blends with some fun outliers like my personal favorite, “Unbound” comprised of Petite Sirah, Tannat & Tempranillo.
My picks:
2016 Unbound
2017 Reserve Chardonnay
2016 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Atmosphere
DAOU Vineyards is located on Adelaida Rd in Paso Robles with their tasting room situated on top of a hill that gives you sweeping views of the valley surrounding you. Its hard to really explain how beautiful it is unless you’ve seen it for yourself. There’s nothing like grabbing a glass, taking a seat in one of their wine barrel chairs and just enjoying the epitome of what wine country has to offer.
On my most recent trip, we ordered the Mezze Platter which was DELICIOUS and could easily feed 4+ people during your tasting.
Great For:
