Allegretto Vineyards and Resort Overview
Whenever I travel, I love to find places to stay that embodies a region. Allegretto Vineyards and Resort in Paso Robles was exactly what I was looking for. Located on the East side of Paso, Allegretto Vineyards and Resort is a Mediterranean inspired haven for wine and relaxation.
The resort is owned by the Ayres family, but was a passion project of Douglas Ayres specifically. When speaking to members of the staff, the spoke very passionately about Doug and his vision for the hotel. Pieces of his own collection of art scatter the walls along with geodes and religious artifacts from all walks of life. The geodes are placed specifically by Doug in order to do the most good in each location.
I am not one to buy into crystal healing, but there is no mistaking the powerful overwhelming peace I felt while staying there. My favorite spot and what i recommend you do over anything else at Allegretto Vineyards and Resort, is visiting and walking the outdoor sound circle.
The Sonic Labyrinth is a meandering path that represents life and the uncertainties you may feel when you aren’t sure where you are going. The path is complimented by motion censors that play different flutes at certain points in the path. Try walking the path at night. When you reach the center take a few moments to reflect while staring into the stars. I promise its life changing.
The Room
We stayed in a Prelude King with Terrazza room that featured the most comfortable bed (no joke) I’ve ever slept in, vaulted ceilings, an over-sized shower (no bathtub), TV, pull out couch, Keurig machine and my personal favorite feature, our own private patio that looks out on the beautiful courtyard.
We woke up early and cozied up in the provided robes, made ourselves some coffee and just enjoyed the peace and sounds of the morning. I’m telling you guys, so much PEACE everywhere here.
Amenities
Pool/Gym
The resort features a large pool/hot tub with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the California sun.
It also has a gym with a gorgeous mural that makes you feel like you are running in the vineyards. Possibly one of the only ways to motivate me to work out!
Spa
We didn’t partake in the spa during our stay, but the resort features a full menu of treatments you can browse here!
Wine
Bonus part about staying at a resort in wine country is getting to do some tasting on site! We tasted just before dinner where the sky decided to give us the most beautiful show that complimented the wines.
We loved the Duetto, a white co-fermentation of Vermentino & and Viognier and I took a bottle of the 2010 Sharps Hill Cab home!
Cello Restaurant
Allegretto Vineyards and Resort’s onsite restaurant is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with some great options! We had the lamb, berry salad and creme brulee for dessert! They also have some really good seasonal cocktails if you need a break from all the wine!
