Happy Thursday! A little birdie told me that today is National Chardonnay Day! Here’s a quick round up of some of my favorite Chardonnays to have on hand. While this is just a small list, each one of these wines is unique and expresses the terroir of their regions beautifully!
Chablis, France – $36.99 Where are my unoaked Chard fans at? This wine is a classic example and very easy to find. Austere, with zippy lemon and green apple.
Willamette Valley, OR – $44.99 One of my all time favorites, you can’t go wrong with any BTF Chardonnay. Golden Apples, brioche, stone fruit and a hint of toffee and oak.
Sta Rita Hills, CA – $52.99 A new favorite producer of mine! Golden Slope is named after the Mersault (golden slope) of Burgundy. A nice dose of minerality compliments the sweet lemon and golden apples with a nice, nutty finish.
Sta Rita Hills, CA – $35 A small producer based out of Santa Barbara, this wine is a true hidden gem. Lemon, crisp apple, subtle notes of oak and honey.
Napa Valley, Ca – $70 This was one of my original goal wines to taste and continues to be a huge treat with each bottle. White and yellow peaches with fresh white flower, a hint of melon and citrus zest rounded out with baking spices and vanilla.
California, $10.99 An all time classic! buttery oak flavors meld with citrus and tropical fruits
Dry Creek Valley, CA – $39 Crisp apple and pears, creamy lemon curd with subtle, well integrated notes of oak.
Carneros, CA $38 If you haven’t had the chance to visit Frank Family in Napa, make sure you add it to your next visit! Yellow apples, lemon/lime, baked pear and toasty oak.
